ACMS Welcomes Kapuanani Barber-Strong: Business Development Manager

With over 20 years of experience in Construction Administration and Contract Procurement within city government, Kapuanani Barber-Strong brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as Business Development Manager. Passionate about building strong relationships, she is excited about the opportunity to contribute to the growth of ACMS. Outside of her professional life, Kapuanani enjoys traveling, with her happiest moments spent soaking up the sun on a beach. She is a proud mother of six adult children and a grandmother to six grandchildren. At home, she is learning how to be an empty nester with her Husband and two little dogs, who together weigh just 12 pounds.

ACMS Northwest Sponsors Boise-Eliot Humboldt Elementary School End of Reading Month Celebration For a 5th Year

March is National Reading Month, and we’re thrilled to share the amazing success story of our partnership with Boise-Eliot Humboldt Elementary School. For the past few years, ACMS Northwest has proudly sponsored the school’s March Madness Reading Challenge, an initiative aimed at celebrating the power of reading and supporting local education. In 2024, we were honored to witness an incredible 58% increase in student participation compared to the previous year, with approximately 40,000 additional minutes logged!

These remarkable numbers reflect the dedication of both students and educators to embrace the joy of reading, and we’re humbled to have played a part in this journey in partnership to Turner & Townsend Heery. With overall student participation soaring from 47.5% to 78.4%, we’re more inspired than ever to continue championing literacy and education in our community.

On Friday, March 22nd, ACMS Northwest was recognized as a Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon Building Diversity honoree. 10 of our employees attended as a testament to being for our employees and fostering a culture that encourages more equitable results. We are so grateful for each and every one of our ACMS Northwest family members and are glad to be a beacon of progress within the AEC industry and companies overall with employee diversity of women and people of color comprising over 65% of our workforce. Employee Appreciation: Portland Trailblazers Skybox!

ACMS Northwest had an amazing time last night watching the Portland Trailblazers vs Miami Heat in a skybox for early Employee Appreciation Day! Even though the Trailblazers didn’t win, we felt like big winners with all of our amazing employees and supporters. Without our fantastic employees, we wouldn’t be where we are today!
