Shout out to our very own Monique Allen, President of ACMS Northwest. She was one of The Portland Business Journal’s recently honored thirty-nine (39) Executives of the Year for 2023. Starting from humble beginnings, Ms. Allen helped guide ACMS Northwest to a staff of 36 employees, with more growth expected.
Monique’s commitment to ACMS, the community, and other civic organizations is truly amazing. For ACMS, one of Ms. Allen’s highest values is providing career opportunities for underserved people. She is proud to have kept this commitment through recruiting and hiring diversity. Currently, 66% of our ACMS staff are comprised of women and people of color. Under Monique’s leadership, ACMS’s efforts to remain sustainable has resulted in ACMS being listed as 100 Best Green Workplaces in Oregon for 2022 and 2023, and 100 Best Companies to work for in Oregon in 2022 by the Oregon Business magazine. ACMS is also a member of the Oregon Environmental Council (OEC) and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)
Ms. Allen’s community and civic work includes: Engineering for Kids (a Portland area Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education program), annual Boise-Elliot/Humboldt Elementary reading events and celebrations, Friends of Trees, SOLVE, Earth Day, Oregon Zoo Polar Bear sponsorships, Oregon Tradeswoman sponsorships, Toys for Tots, mentoring young girls, and she has even presented at the Portland Ted Talks.
